YOUNG RELIGIOUS TALK ABOUT GOD'S 'UNFINISHED BUSINESS'
More than 60 priests, brothers and sisters in religious life less than 10 years have concluded a meeting in Sydney with a sense that much of the Church's work remains to be done.
"While there is division, hunger, addiction, oppression, and despair, our mission is incomplete and so are we," said organiser Sr Rebecca McCabe. "We all believed that by choosing to be in religious life we were about God's business."
Sr Rebecca said that the diversity of the group, and the doubt and questioning in contemporary society, made the expression of common purpose and solidarity at the conference very important.
Commenting on last weekend's meeting, facilitator Sandra Norris-Trainer said some of the issues discussed included how to remain faithful to one's call in today's society; living in an ageing community and the challenges of working 'on the edge' with marginalised people.
