|Vatican||POPE GREETS BIKIES IN ST PETER'S SQUARE|
About a thousand motorcyclists revved their engines to greet Pope John Paul after he appeared at his window for Sunday's meeting with the faithful in St Peter's Square.|
The motorcycle buffs parked their bikes in the square to join thousands of others who turned out to cheer the Holy Father.
During the Holy Year, many groups have had their day at the Vatican, from homeless people to journalists to artisans to scientists.
The bikies sounded horns, raised their helmets, and raced their engines when the Pope acknowledged their presence.
Before greeting the pope, they had their helmets blessed.
