|Canada||FEMINIST MARCH DIVIDES CANADIAN CATHOLICS|
Bishop Frederick Henry of Calgary's support for the International March for Women is becoming a divisive issue in his diocese and throughout Canada.
The Bishop, along with several other Catholic groups, has lent his support to the event, including monetary support.
Many pro-life workers have criticised this decision, as the Canadian branch of the International March for Women's organisation unofficially supports abortion.
Bishop Henry said that there are three possible responses to the "culture of death": withdrawal, revolution, or involvement. He feels that the third option is the only viable one in this case and points to the many positive aspects of the march.
Several other Canadian bishops, including Cardinal Aloysius Abrozic of Toronto, are choosing the first response, withdrawing support from Catholic organizations that are involved with or funding the march.
