|France||VATICAN TELLS SCHOOL TO REMOVE CONDOM MACHINE|
A Catholic secondary school has agreed to remove a condom machine after complaints from parents reached the Vatican.
The Paris school of 400 boys and girls got the dispenser after it held discussions with pupils.
But the Catholic Church in Rome said giving students a condom machine "took all the sense out of a Catholic education" and "legitimised behaviour which was not acceptable".
Gilles du Retail, spokesman for the French Catholic Education board, said: "This is the first time we've heard of anything like this. It's not normal to have this kind of machine in our schools."
Most French Catholics want Pope John Paul to endorse birth control, reports Reuters.
