India    ATTACK ON NUNS, PRIEST IN UTTAR PRADESH
In the second attack on Christians in as many days, 10 armed people severely assaulted two nuns and a priest and ransacked their houses in Mathura in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
   The nuns were beaten up with sticks and cash and other valuables were taken about midnight on Monday, sources said. The attackers then swooped on the residence of Father K.K. Thomas, school principal and priest of a local church, and beat him with iron rods till he fell unconscious.
   The coordinator of the International Bible Society (South Asia), Mr. Prabhu Dayal, expressed grave concern over repeated attacks on Christian missionaries and demanded immediate adequate securi ty cover for the community members.
