CATHOLIC TEACHERS REACH PAY AGREEMENT
The union representing Catholic school teachers has reached an award agreement, in stark contrast to the threat of strike action made by public school teachers.
The Independent Education Union (IEU) says it has settled on an award with the Catholic Employers which includes a 16 per cent pay rise over four years with no negative impact on working conditions.
The agreement provides for a 4% salary increase effective immediately, and an average 4% increase for the next three years, plus a 2% additional payment and a range of other entitlements including better conditions for long service and maternity leave.
