Indonesia    CATHOLIC ARTIST SEEKS APPROVAL FOR 'COMIC' CATECHISM
An Indonesian Catholic artist says he has sought support from the local Catholic Church in West Java to help him realise his childhood dream of creating a catechism in comics for young people.
Comics can be an effective tool to help children understand catechism, Toni Masdiono, a comic artist and lecturer at the state-owned Institute of Technology, told UCA News.
He said many Catholic comic artists and illustrators contributed their talents for the Protestant Church and secular publishing houses. Noting the lack of the Catholic Church support, he said the Church must examine this situation. He said he is looking for Catholics to finance a group concerned with producing a children's catechism.
