|Diary||CHRISTIANS TO MARCH TOGETHER SEEKING FORGIVENESS|
More than 4000 banner carrying Christians representing seven Christian denominations will march together through Brisbane streets tonight.
Organised by Queensland Churches Together, the "Ashes to Life" march and ceremony is the major Brisbane ecumenical Jubilee 2000 event. Christians will admit their failures and commit themselves to making a fresh start in the new millennium.
In an unprecedented show of Christian unity, Christians will gather from 6.30pm at eight inner city Churches before joining together at 7pm to march through Brisbane to the Riverstage, City Gardens.
Reverend Russell Morris of Queensland Churches Together said this is a unique opportunity on Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the Christian Church's Lenten period, to celebrate the gift of Jesus Christ.
