Media    NILE CONDEMNS MOVIE THAT OFFENDS CATHOLICS
A film dealing with Catholic Church teaching would be viewed by all Christians as blasphemous and offensive, New South Wales upper house MP Rev. Fred Nile said on Friday.
The American movie Dogma, which which portrays God as a woman, stars heartthrobs Ben Affleck and Matt Damon as fallen angels. It started showing in Australia on Thursday.
Catholics threatened to stage protests against the screening of the movie, a move Mr Nile - a Uniting Church minister - said would be supported by Christians.
"My fax machine has been inundated with people who are concerned about this movie, which mocks many sacred beliefs," he told AAP.
"Dogma portrays God as a woman, which is offensive to Catholic and Christian beliefs.
"Jesus said you have to pray to our Father, not our Mother."
