To counter the spread of pornography on the Internet, the Philippine bishops' conference has launched an Internet service provider that bars access to porn sites on the Web.
In addition to furthering the bishops' "crusade against pornography," the service, called cbcpNet, will also generate income for Catholic conference activities, said Msgr. Pedro C. Quitorio III, the conference's assistant secretary-general.
Launched at the beginning of the year, the service was to be offered to the general public by March, Msgr. Quitorio told the CNS Catholic news agency in an interview on Tuesday.
