Social Welfare    STATE FUNDS FOR ST VINCENT'S REDEVELOPMENT
NSW Premier Bob Carr promised $107 million worth of State funding for the major redevelopment of St Vincent's hospital.
The Catholic Weekly reports that redevelopment will replace major facilities in the hospital, partly replace and expand parts of the private hospital and create an underground carpark.
Trustees of St Vincent's Hospital will make up the shortfall of the $129 redevelopment.
Dr Denise Robertson executive director of St Vincent's Hospital said the redevelopment will provide "state of the art facilities designed to maximise the provision of diagnostic and treatment services on the ambulatory care basis and will replace ageing accommodation, the majority of which is more than 40 years old".
