Indonesia    JAVA CHURCHES ATTACKED AFTER RALLY
A Christian rally intended to express solidarity with Muslims in the riot-torn Maluku islands has resulted in attacks on churches.
Four Protestant churches, three Catholic churches and a Catholic convent in Yogyakarta were pelted and ransacked by Muslim militants in Sunday's violence.
No one was reported injured seriously. Eyewitnesses said that following the rally at a Yogyakarta football stadium, participants dispersed in groups and went to streets where churches and Church institutions are located.
Security personnel, Catholic youths and moderate Muslim activists are now guarding all churches and Christian institutions in Yogyakarta, Church sources told UCA News.
